Description of 3-G Under New Ownership

1. Continues the story from the mid 16th century when the land was bought by Owen Oglethorpe (who founded Tadcaster Grammar School and, as Bishop Oglethorpe, crowned Queen Elizabeth I) and his brother. Details are given of various families associated with the land and of its uses up to the late 18th century. An early 18th century sketch map is included on Item 9.
