Description of 3-C "Headley Hall - Early Days" by Jean Hardy

1. This copy of an Ordnance Survey map of the Bramham area forms an introduction to "Headley Hall - Early Days" written by Jean Hardy. Headley Hall is circled on the map

 

 

2. & 3. These two pages relate the stories of the owners of the surrounding land during the 11th century before and after the Norman conquest. Details given in the Doomsday returns are recorded showing the manor of Bramham was vastly larger in those days

4. Part of the Bayeux Tapestry showing William the Conqueror with half brother Robert Count of Mortain who became the owner of the manor of Bramham
